You are talking to an AI

OCTOVO is an AI system. The assistant introduces itself as such on first start, it is stated permanently in the chat, and it says so at any time when asked. It is not a human, even if you give it a name.

What OCTOVO writes is labelled

Every message OCTOVO produces carries a machine-readable label in its header (X-Generated-By: OCTOVO (AI-assisted)). In addition, you can switch on a visible notice for recipients in the settings. For messages OCTOVO sends fully automatically without your approval, this visible notice is active by default.

Roles

TCB GmbH makes the AI system available (provider within the meaning of the regulation). You use it professionally or privately (deployer). The language models used come from Anthropic PBC.

What OCTOVO does well — and where it errs

• It hits the right tone when it knows the contact. With entirely new recipients it guesses — which is why it asks then.
• It understands amounts, dates and deadlines reliably, but can assign them wrongly when documents are unclear.
• It can invent facts when information is missing. That is why it cites sources and presents drafts.
• It does not understand irony in other people’s messages and recognises fraud attempts only by typical patterns.
• It makes no decisions with legal effect about people — no applicant ranking, no creditworthiness.

What OCTOVO may not do

Prohibited under our terms of use are: applicant selection, credit scoring, biometric categorisation, emotion recognition in the workplace, and any application prohibited under Article 5 of the AI Act (KI-Verordnung).

Your responsibility

You remain the sender. What OCTOVO sends in your name has the same legal effect as if you had written it. That is why everything outgoing requires approval by default, why you see a reason for every draft, and why you can take a send back for 30 seconds.

OCTOVO provides no legal, tax or medical advice. You expressly agree to this notice when creating the account; we record the time, the wording and the then-current version stamp of this page (see the privacy policy). If this page changes, the version stamp changes — so it remains provable which text you had in front of you.
