Accessibility statement (Erklärung zur Barrierefreiheit)

Conformance status

This website is partially conformant with the requirements named above. The deviations are listed further down, with numbers.

What was measured and what came of it

Measurement was done against the pages actually delivered, not against the source code, with a remote-controlled browser at 320, 360, 390, 768, 941, 1024, 1440 pixels width across all 25 pages.

• Contrast: no shortfall. All text passages reach at least 4.5:1, large type at least 3:1 — including the labels in the drawings and the white type on coloured surfaces. Previously, the skip link and the “Herunterladen” (Download) button sat at 3.80:1 on all 25 pages; 193 places were affected in total. They are fixed.
• Touch targets up to 940 pixels window width: none below 44 × 44 pixels (except links within body text, to which this does not apply). On wider windows the links in the header and footer are smaller — the navigation 33, the wordmark 23 and the footer links 18 pixels tall. WCAG 2.1 level AA requires no minimum size for this; it only appears at level AAA. We name it anyway, because not everyone guides a mouse steadily.
• Reflow: At 320 pixels width the content remains reachable without horizontal scrolling. Below 720 pixels, tables become cards so that no column is cut off.
• Structure: Every page has exactly one main heading, a set language (de), a skip link to the content whose target actually exists, and its own page title. No image without alternative text, no button without a name, no drawing without a name or without being marked as decoration.
• Motion: All animations are tied to scrolling and do not run on by themselves. With “reduce motion” they stand still; the content remains complete.
• No statement through colour alone: Next to every indicator light on the status displays stands the word.
• No third-party connections: When the page loads, nothing is fetched from a third-party address — no fonts, no scripts, no images.

Known limitations

The following is not yet in order, and we would rather say so than keep quiet about it.

• Small type on wide windows. From 941 pixels window width, around 1,800 text passages sit between 11 and 15 pixels — of these around 1,500 at 15 pixels, plus 154 at 14, 96 at 13, 38 at 12 and around forty at 11 pixels (the column names of the station list on the security page). WCAG 2.1 prescribes no minimum size, and the pages can be enlarged without loss; even so, it is not easy to read. Below 941 pixels no text passage is smaller than 16 pixels — there it is already fixed. For wide windows the changeover is still outstanding.
• Labels in the drawings. From 941 pixels, 95 of 112 labels are smaller than 10 pixels; the smallest measures 3.8 pixels. The cause is the drawing’s scale: five drawing units in an image 200 units wide arrive as 4.75 pixels at a display width of 190 pixels. Setting them larger is not possible without rebuilding the drawings. Below 941 pixels these labels are hidden and replaced by a full sentence in 16 pixels beneath the drawing; the same solution for wide windows is still outstanding.
• Not yet tested with assistive technology. A complete pass with screen readers (VoiceOver, NVDA) and with voice input is still outstanding. What is stated above is measured, not experienced — and a measurement does not replace a person who hears the page.
• Third-party content. Content originating from outside sources (such as imported PDF documents from third parties) may itself not be accessible.

How testing is done

Before every release, measurement is done against the built pages: contrast of every text passage including the drawings, font sizes, touch targets, horizontal overflow, language, heading order, alternative texts and names of buttons — at the seven widths named above, across all pages. This statement was prepared on 2 August 2026 on the basis of a self-assessment and rests on this measurement.
