OCTOVO

Download the package for your system, open it, and OCTOVO sets itself up together with you in under 15 minutes — no command line, no second install step.

Download

Download once. Done.

No second step, no command line, no database you set up yourself. Database, background service, autostart and the menu-bar icon are all in the package. 14 days free, without payment details.

Uninstalling removes the app and asks in a window whether the data should go too — with the option to export everything as a file first.

Packages by system

  • macOS

Open it, drag the icon into “Applications”, start it. Signed with an Apple-Development-Zertifikat and not notarized — on first launch macOS therefore reports an unknown developer; confirm once with a right-click on “Open”, then never again.

Version 0.1.38 from the test channel. It lives on dev.octovo.de — that is the development build, not the finished one.

    Verify the checksum

This lets you see for yourself that the file wasn’t altered on the way. In the terminal, in the folder with the downloaded file:

    shasum -a 256 OCTOVO-0.1.38-arm64.dmg

It must come out exactly as this:

    899279d2f69fb8d8b44844a3b83a84328b05dc636dcca4c10ffa4dd301f9f2aa
  • Windows

It isn’t built. The settings for a Windows package do exist in the app’s build recipe, but it has never been built and signed.

No package, not even a test build

We deliberately don’t name a date for it. What gets finished shows up in the change log.

  • Linux

It isn’t built. Neither an AppImage nor a .deb nor an .rpm exists — not even as a test build.

What it costs after the trial

No command line, no database — the assistant leads the conversation.

  1. Name

You say what your assistant should be called. “Otto” is suggested, and it stays changeable forever.

  2. Account

Sign in — that’s all it takes. No AI account, no key, no payment details for the trial.

  3. The one consent

Once, it asks for access to your device, with a list of what it may do afterwards. Never a storm of clicks again.

  4. Getting acquainted

Eight questions in full sentences, each skippable. Afterwards it knows your tone, your working hours and your important people.

  5. Mailbox

Just type in the email address. It finds the provider and the right settings itself.

  6. The first morning

The next day your overview is waiting before you have your coffee. Under 15 minutes of effort to get here.

How much it decides on its own after that
